Basketball University

B-Ball University teaches young athletes the skills necessary to succeed on the court and in the classroom.  Founded by two former North Carolina High School All-State and All Conference basketball players who benefited from similar programs in their youth.  Mahlon Hayes (West Charlotte, 1991; Albright College, 1995) and Patrick Herron (West Mecklenburg, 1991; Winston-Salem State University, 1995) are dedicated to giving young people the same opportunities they had in the pursuit of their dreams on the court and at the colleges of their choice.  Mahlon was starting point guard on West Charlotte's State 4-A Championship Team in 1990-1991 and All-Conference in college.   Patrick was assistant coach of North Mecklenburg's State 4-A Championship Team in 2005 and was All-Conference in the CIAA.  Both graduated college in 4 years combining academics with basketball success.  B-Ball University will teach young people the formula that will bring them success on court and in their lives.

• July 1 - Mahlon Hayes and Patrick Herron established B-Ball U to assist young people living in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg metropolitan area in honing their skills on the basketball court and in the classroom
